By Alicia K. Hubbard

If you want to be the best fighter that you can possibly be, then you want to buy the best MMA gloves that you can as these are some of the most important types of equipment that you can buy for this superb sport. There are three different styles of gloves that are designed to be used in MMA and they are to be used for different purposes. I offer my expertise on which MMA gloves you should buy because I have a lot of experience with this great sport.

One of the most important types of gloves that you can buy is fighting gloves, because when you fight in a competition these are the gloves that you want to use. Traditionally, these gloves offer the least amount of padding to your knuckles, but still will help both fighters stay safe. These will usually have an open finger and open palm region, while protecting your knuckles and the outer region of your hands.

For your training sessions, the type of MMA gloves that will help you with that are called bag gloves and they are meant for hitting bags. Whether you are using a speed bag or a heavy bag or another style of bag, these gloves will protect your knuckles and hands from damage as you train. It is very important for a fighter to maintain their health and if you buy the right set of gloves this can go a long way to protecting you.

To protect your hands in all settings, buy a pair of sparring MMA gloves for your training matches that are a combination of the two above sets of gloves. Although they will have a solid amount of padding because in sparring it is much more important that both opponents do not get injured as punches are being thrown. These are a very important part of any high quality fighter's gear set as they train.

I always recommend that a fighter get a good pair of each of these mitts for their training matches and their fights too. There are a number of different mitts and some are superb, while others are less well made, so do your research. MMA gloves will improve your experience in this great sport and help you achieve the aspirations that you have as you train and compete in this sport, so make sure to take the time to choose your gear wisely.
