Questions to Ask Your SEO Consultant

By Charles Ma

Unlike a writer or a Net marketer, a SEO expert must have an exceedingly technical experience. When you are looking out for a SEO Advisor, you need someone that knows far more than you do. You can't have someone who knows just a concept or 2 about S.E.O than you. You want an expert- an accomplished.

But given that most S.E.O experts can only be found online and not a lot would be pleased to do "house calls," how are you able to be sure that you found the right and credible SEO advisor.

Interviewing a SEO consultant can be quite tricky because they will be able to just drown you with jargons and somehow, this could frighten you. This will even make you believe that indeed, they're experts in the topic of SEO.

But first of all, understanding of jargons do not guarantee that they're experts- for all you know, they're just Google-ing away. Right?

A great way to be sure that you found the best SEO consultant is to make a list of questions that you want to know before you hire them. You should also try and make this a phone interview or at the very least a Skype interview. Sending them your questionnaire will not be that effective any more.

1. What is your degree and how did you get into SEO?

Possibilities are, not all S.E.O mavens have a degree in IT or software development. That isn't a huge issue though. You just have to ask to substantiate you are really serious about your business and that by hiring this S.E.O expert, you mean business.

2. How many years of experience do you have in S.E.O?

Recap in this question that you mean tangible experience and that doesn't include studying or self-practice.

3. Do you have any experience in S.E.O with my niche?

Every niche is different and occasionally, what works very well for another may not work for you. Of course, you cant anticipate finding that all S.E.O gurus will have an experience working on your specific niche, just some experience with a niche similar or related to yours would serve.

4. What's your biggest client or your best success stories?

Real stories will help you see whether or not the SEO advisor can deliver satisfactory results. Besides, you need to use this as reference and ask the internet site owners if they would recommend the SEO consultant's work.

5. What are your SEO services and which one is the best?

This question can help you understand more what the method of SEO would be like for your internet site and if you think it might be effective.

Now, interviewing a SEO specialist may appear a touch too much for some. But if you're serious about managing a successful and top-class business, you should be truly painstaking about anything that will be in direct relation with your website- and this includes a S.E.O expert.
